Iconic Lincoln
Few objects in history are as readily recognizable as Abraham Lincoln’s stovepipe hat. People across the globe easily identify the object and know that it evokes the nation’s 16th President. The objects gathered together in this collection are the most iconic and therefore the most identifiable with Mr. Lincoln -- from his marriage certificate to Mary Todd; to one of his most famous speeches, the Gettysburg Address; to his greatest achievement, the 13th Amendment to the Constitution, which abolished slavery.
